Melbourne Street Art

Wandering along in an unknown city there is something comforting about seeing the humor, beauty and  fun in art given freely to the public on buildings and street signs.  I love street art and so apparently does Melbourne, because its everywhere!

Opening Night

Here are some photographs from opening night of Reboot at Off the Kerb Gallery in Melbourne.  I also was lucky enough to go to Melbourne for a few days to attend the opening.  Melbourne is a really a beautiful place to go and very user friendly, with lots of fabulous street art and old buildings.   I found some great places via Pip Lincolne from the Meet Me at Mikes blog, who has a list of wonderful shops and food places on her Google Map here.

Around Ipswich

Stripped back

Sometimes you can find a piece that really just needed a little tlc and it offers up the most wonderful surprise.  Underneath a few layers of fabric and a feather pillow we found not only the original stickers but also the travel tag still attached to the handle on the side.  This wonderful trunk sold as soon as we put it into the stall.

Work in the studio

This week two more drawings completed!  Under a little pressure at the moment with lots of ideas competing for my attention.  I have been working towards an exhibition for June this year and still have a lot of work to do.  Hoping to keep you updated with more pics in the future.

This weeks fun at Top of Town Ipswich and Queens Park

I had a little errand to run the other morning at Brisbane St, Ipswich and was lucky enough to have some extra time to check out two of my favorite shops, Cultiver and ES Traders.

I've also been getting inspiration for the garden from the wonderful Japanese garden at Queens Park.  So magical and peaceful.

Have a lovely weekend.
